The Central Bank of Brazil (“BACEN”), by Circular No. 3.795/2016, regulates that all Brazilian companies must submit the Annual Census by 6 PM of 08/15/2022, containing financial and accounting information, and liabilities with creditors abroad, as below.
WHO SHOULD PROVIDE THE DECLARATION REGARDING THE ANNUAL CENSUS?
The declaration is mandatory for a company or investment fund that have a participation of non-resident investors in Brazil on 12/31/2021 and, simultaneously, have a net worth equal or greater than R$557,990,000.00 on 12/31/21 (five hundred and fifty-seven million reais; equivalent to USD100 million).
The reporting base year is 2021. The reporting base date is December 31, 2021.
Attention, please be aware that it does not refer to the five-year Census obligation. This occurs in base dates of years ending in 0 (zero) or 5 (five), the last being in 2021, related to the base data of 12/31/2020 and the next one being only in 2026, related to the base date of 12/31/2025. relativo à data-base de 31/12/2020 e sendo o próximo somente em 2026, relativo a data-base de 31/12/2025.
